The History of Turquoise
Turquoise has been used in jewellery for thousands of years, from ancient Persia to Indigenous cultures of the Americas. Often worn as a symbol of protection and wellbeing, its distinctive blue-green shade remains instantly recognisable. Its cultural significance spans continents and traditions.

Natural Origins & Characteristics
Turquoise forms when copper-rich water reacts with minerals in dry, arid environments. Its blue to green colour depends on the balance of copper and iron present during formation. Significant deposits are found in Iran, the south western United States, and parts of China.
Turquoise by Cellini
Our turquoise is selected for its natural blue-green colour and surface character. We favour stones that feel balanced and well formed, then design settings that allow their colour to stand out naturally. Each piece has a relaxed, confident feel.
Care & Craftsmanship
Turquoise ranks 5–6 on the Mohs scale and is relatively soft. It should be kept away from water, cosmetics, and chemicals.
